  1. How much will the memorial cost?

    The estimated cost of the memorial is $125,000.

  2. How much has been raised so far?

    We are humbled to announce that, through generous donations from the Lincoln Police Union, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Fraternal Order of Police, and many generous members from the community, we have raised the necessary funds to complete construction. We are now raising money to establish an endowment which will cover the costs of future maintenance, repairs, and insurance.

  3. If I were to donate funds, how is my money used?

    Donations will go directly towards the construction of the memorial, i.e. labor and materials.

  4. Making a donation is simple. Donations can be made online in the "How To Help" section. You can also mail a check made payable to the “LPU Memorial Fund” to 1500 S. 70th Street, Suite #101, Lincoln, NE 68506.

  5. What is the Lincoln Police Union (LPU)?

    The Lincoln Police Union (LPU) is a labor union made up of officers and sergeants employed by the Lincoln Police Department. It is primarily organized to negotiate wages and working conditions for these sworn police officers, but also organizes numerous long standing charitable events in Lincoln, Nebraska.

  6. Are donations tax deductible?

    Yes, the Lincoln Police Union's (LPU) Memorial Fund is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All donations are tax deductible.

  7. What will the memorial look like?

    The memorial will consist of two life-size bronze statues of a Lincoln Police Officer and a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputy kneeling in front of granite panels listing the names of the seven Lincoln Police Officers and three Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputies who have died or been killed in the line of duty.

  8. The proposed location is along the east side of the Justice and Law Enforcement Center (aka- Lancaster County Courthouse) at 575 S. 10th Street, Lincoln, NE.
